Award-winning Author, host & political analyst

Juanita Tolliver is an award-winning author, host, and on-air political analyst, well-known for her work with MSNOW (formerly MSNBC), as a contributing host on Sirius XM Progress, and an opinion writer. 

In January 2025, Juanita released her debut nonfiction book, A More Perfect Party: The Night Shirley Chisholm and Diahann Carroll Reshaped Politics. In this gripping and timely text, she offered an unprecedented view into Shirley Chisholm’s humanity through the lens of her 1972 presidential campaign, and the importance of Black women building communities with, and for, each other. Her book has garnered coverage and features in NPR, Elle, Essence, Literary Hub, and more. Joy-Ann Reid has described Tolliver’s work as, “A beautifully written political-social page turner.” In February 2026, A More Perfect Party won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work - Nonfiction.

She is also host of the Archival podcast where she takes listeners into the archives to explore historical nuggets that shift entire narratives about what we think we know. In every project she takes on, Juanita is committed to exploring the intricacies of humanity, community and history through well-researched storytelling.

Previously, Juanita served as Host of Crooked Media’s What A Day podcast, and as the Director of Campaigns at the Center for American Progress Action Fund where she advised presidential and congressional campaigns, and led policy advocacy campaigns. She is a graduate of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
